Despite using the word "enemies" to describe his GOP opponents just a day before the midterm election, the day after the Republicans' historic win President Obama appealed for "common ground" and asserted that "No party has a monopoly on wisdom."
So I just wanted to take this moment to flash back to Mr. Obama's own electoral victory, when he smugly said "I won" to the Republican leadership in Congress, indicating that it would be Mr. Obama's way or the highway from here on out:
'President Obama listened to Republican gripes about his stimulus package during a meeting with congressional leaders Friday morning - but he also left no doubt about who's in charge of these negotiations. "I won," Obama noted matter-of-factly, according to sources familiar with the conversation.'
Well the shoe is on the other foot, Mr. President, because now the GOP won and you have lost. Americans don't want your radical agenda of consolidating Washington power at an ever more fevered pace. We never did.
