"Anytime any of the other candidates wants to come to Houston at 12 o'clock noon when the temperature is 100 and humidity is 102, I will ride 20 miles with them on a bicycle... so I think that's a silly argument."
Video of Ron Paul's bike ride challenge:
The age question isn't a new one in presidential politics. The most recent president to be assailed for his age was Ronald Reagan, which should give Republicans pause to take note as they seek out a "Ronald Reagan" to deal with the issues of the 21st century.

And boy would I pay some money to see Michele Bachmann and Mitt Romney huffing, puffing, and sweating their way behind their elder: the remarkably fit and exercise-obsessed Dr. Ron Paul on a 100 degree day in Houston! Makes me smile.
One last note. A Daily Paul commentator recently wrote in regard to this issue: "In some countries like China and India (who happen to be kicking our tails financially, and educationally) age is revered, not mocked."
