The Six States That Will Likely Decide The 2012 Election

Obama won in 2008 with 365 electoral votes to McCain's 173 and he won by flipping 9 red states that went for Bush in 2006 - FL, OH, VA, NC, IN, IA, CO, NV and NM.  While the 2012 GOP primary is a mathematical delegate dance, the general election is 100% pure electoral votes to get to the 270 required to win.  So it's not surprising the pundits and observers are now intensely focusing on the absolutely critical swing states.  Will they remain blue to flip back to red?

The left is upset by a recent Rasmussen poll that shows both Romney and Santorum beating Obama in a general election.

Matt Drudge, along with several conservative bloggers, is hyping the latest release of Scott Rasmussen’s Daily Tracking Poll purporting to show both Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum leading President Obama in a nationwide poll.

Outside the Beltway

In my humble opinion, I don't believe that Obama is in much general election trouble and I absolutely believe that he will be re-elected.  By raising the contentious social issues and ranting like psychopathic warmongers, Republicans just scare the hell out of voters.  Therefore, the GOP will lose prized voting block constituencies, including the independents, Ron Paul supporters, anti-war folks and others.
