Your Tax Dollars at Work: Wind Power Companies Being Paid Not To Produce Power

We subsidize wind power and then we pay wind power energy companies not to produce wind power.  Nothing like being downwind when the government is breaking wind!  It's insanely incomprehensible, not to mention that wind power is very expensive and will hurt the poor and middle class who are already struggling with soaring energy costs.

It’s bad enough that we subsidize the generation of wind power. It’s worse that we also pay some wind power companies not to produce the wind power we subsidize them to create.

Your tax dollars, hard at work.

Wind farms in the Pacific Northwest — built with government subsidies and maintained with tax credits for every megawatt produced — are now getting paid to shut down as the federal agency charged with managing the region’s electricity grid says there’s an oversupply of renewable power at certain times of the year.
