Bracing for $300 jump in power bill as the carbon tax hits

In Australia, Cap and Trade, the carbon tax, was passed. Now it's estimated that the average power bill will jump $300 a month. Of course, government always has a solution to problems it creates - just subsidize the power costs of those who can't afford the higher energy costs caused by government in the first place.  But the subsidy is only $75.00 a month.  Isn't government great?
