This really, really bugs me. What right has the Interior Department to decide what Alaska will do with its immense oil and gas reserves? Fedzilla has literally claimed dominion over all of Alaska's energy resources. Yet, Alaska doesn't do anything about it - for the most part Alaska just allows the Federal government to do whatever it wants.
The Interior Department yesterday released a sweeping plan that will decide the future management of oil and gas development, wildlife conservation, hunting and recreation in the nation’s largest contiguous block of public lands. The Bureau of Land Management for the first time is proposing a single management plan for the 23-million-acre National Petroleum Reserve in northwest Alaska, known as NPR-A.
