Signs That Rick Santorum is Not Quitting

Santorum stubbornly hangs in there and refuses to quit. He's definitely using his theocon/neocon power in an attempt to accumulate delegates. He recently traveled to TX to personally meet with Rick Perry, who backs Gingrich, and Santorum is also using the religious right in TX to get TX to change from proportional delegate representation to winner take all of the big bag of TX delegates (152). Perry, who say he's definitely interested in launching another bid for the presidency in 2016, isn't about to extend a lifeline to Santorum and Perry is still miffed at the religious right who met in TX to endorse Santorum over him (after Perry flopped on the debate stage).
The Republican presidential candidate hanging on by his fingernails has beefed up what was a thin campaign schedule this week in Pennsylvania. And if Rick Santorum is getting ready to bow out of the race, as some folks would like to think, he forgot to tell Chuck Laudner, a leading Iowa surrogate who is spending this week in Washington state, trying to drum up support among party activists seeking to be convention delegates....Santorum has been arguing that here and in other states, he will overperform in the little-publicized, arcane county caucuses that actually elect delegates to the convention throughout this month. If Romney fails to get the 1,144 delegates needed to lock down the nomination before the convention, Santorum thinks he could win a floor fight.
