Occupy Afghanistan: Past 2014?

After President Obama visited Afghanistan this past May, viewers got an idea that the United States armed forces would be home by the end of 2014. The Commander and Chief also made clear that from now until then, we would transition into a training position for the Afghan Soldiers. Still one of the most important negatives to this war campaign is we are still being attacked by militia groups, SpreadLibertyNews reported on the Taliban attacking a NATO base inside Afghanistan this week. Reviewing the event and others like it, this is the most important issue because after a decade long of the occupation in a country is plenty of time to make friends with neighbors; clearly the United States has not done that well enough, as we are still being attacked. Although there may be a problem with the idea of bringing the troops home in 2014; according to Nikolaiy Patrushev, Secretary of the Russian Security Council, “Despite Washington’s claims about having no plans to deploy permanent bases in Afghanistan, we know that the US troops will remain in this country after 2014,”...
