Happy 78th birthday, Alcoholics Anonymous.

No one in AA can tell another person or group what to do. Each group is completely autonomous. You can start a group with no permission needed. AA is an organization with millions of members that runs on anarchist principles. Seriously.

And it has helped millions to get clean and sober and stay that way.
